Nunn Announces Additional $2.2 Million Federal Investment in Des Moines Infrastructure

U.S. Representative Zach Nunn (IA-03) has revealed that the Des Moines International Airport is set to benefit from a substantial $2.2 million federal investment. This funding, allocated by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Airport Terminal and Tower Program, will be utilized for the construction of the next phase of the new terminal area.

In his announcement, Rep. Nunn emphasized the importance of enhancing travel experiences for individuals visiting the airport. He stated, "Travel can be challenging – delays, poor service, and more set travelers back whether they’re headed on vacation or a business trip. The Des Moines Airport is working to improve that. This investment in critical infrastructure will continue to make the travel experience better for all visitors to the Des Moines Airport! I’ll continue to fight to bring back these investments to our community at every opportunity."

The Des Moines International Airport is set to receive $2,200,000 from the FAA, with the funds designated for the construction of common use terminal areas aimed at modernizing infrastructure to enhance accessibility and efficiency.

Kevin Foley, Executive Director of the Des Moines Airport Authority, expressed excitement about the federal grant, noting its significance in the transformation of the airport. He stated, "We're thrilled to receive this federal grant, aiding in transforming the Des Moines International Airport. With enhanced accessibility and operational efficiencies, we're poised for growth and better connectivity. This investment underscores the shared commitment to delivering a top-tier travel experience in Iowa. We thank our federal partners for their invaluable support."
